National Basketball Association (NBA) team Philadelphia 76ers will exclusively launch its first ever NFT collection this Wednesday.

The exhibition tagged “Legacy NFT Collection” will be conducted on the popular cryptocurrency platform Crypto.com.

“As one of the most prestigious and recognizable brands in all of sports with a passionate fanbase, the Philadelphia 76ers and Crypto.com are proud to bring to life exclusive and authentic digital collectibles for fans to own, collect and share.” An official statement on Crypto.com’s website read.

The collection aims to commemorate the NBA’s 75th anniversary and 76er’s first game at their old arena, the Philadelphia Spectrum, way back in Oct 1967. The Sixers, fresh from winning the NBA title that year, defeated LA Lakers 103-87.

13 officially licensed commemorative tickets showcasing special games and events that happened at the Philadelphia Spectrum will be featured in the exhibition.

As part of the agreement, Crypto.com will authenticate each NFT, and a share of the proceeds will be donated to the Sixers Youth Foundation.

Investors are entitled to different reward packages based on the value of the asset they own and how long they decide to hold it.

On Monday, the Philadelphia 76ers unveiled their 2021-22 Nike NBA City Edition jerseys, paying tribute to the Spectrum, their home arena between 1967 and 1996.
