Auction House Sotheby’s to accept Live Ether Bids

Global auction house Sotheby’s will allow bidders to submit their offers in Ether cryptocurrency for one its upcoming auctioning event scheduled for Nov. 18.

The exhibition will showcase works from street artist Banksy’s tagged “Trolley Hunters” and “Love Is In The Air” (2006).

The event, which will be held at the firm’s headquarters, will be beamed live on the company’s social media accounts. Sotheby’s has been flirting with digital currencies and NFTs for a while now.

Last month, the auction house took its bromance with NFTs to another level by  launching a new platform, “Sotheby’s Metaverse.” About the same time, the firm entered into a partnership with NFT tech company Mojito. As a result of the partnership, Sotheby’s Metaverse will be powered by Mojito.
