Turkey President Passes Crypto Bill to Parliament

Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is planning to send a crypto bill to push over a new crypto bill to the parliamentary house.

“The law is ready; we will send it to the Parliament soon without delay,” Erdogan told reporters in Istanbul, according to several news sources.

Cryptocurrency has gained increased attention in the country following a sharp decline in the country’s national currency, the lira. Inflation has hit unprecedented levels as Iira went on a free fall against bitcoin and the US dollars.

This has forced investors to adopt cryptocurrency as a way to safeguard the value of their funds. Aside from the proposed crypto bill, the Turkish Treasury and Finance Ministry is introducing crypto regulation.
