Texas House of Representatives has unanimously approved a bill to officially legalize the status of cryptocurrency in the state.
The Virtual Currency Bill has the blessings of Texas Greg Abbott who drummed up support for the initiative.
However, the bill still needs to scale through the Senate before it can be recognized as a law.
Mark Zuckerberg’s cryptic-crypto message
The fifth richest man on the planet, Mark Zuckerberg raised eyebrows with a short cryptic-crypto message he posted earlier today.
The Facebook CEO introduced his goats to the world in a post on the social media platform but many think there’s more to the message than meet the eyes.
“My goats: Max and Bitcoin,” Zuckerberg announced.
Since then, a whole army of mind readers has been attempting to decode the motive behind the message.
Anthony Scaramucci even went as far as welcoming Mark Zuckerberg into the fold.
I knew Mark Zuckerberg would become a Bitcoin-er when he hired David Marcus from PayPal to run Facebook’s crypto business. It’s been a long and winding road, but welcome to #Bitcoin. Great job Zuck and David. Excited for what comes next. The SkyeBridge founder said.
What We Know
A shareholders’ meeting has been called for May 26. Some sources believe that Facebook will make a huge cryptocurrency announcement on that day.
And this will most likely affect the value of the digital assets, but then, all that is mere speculation (as at the time of drafting this piece).
Nevertheless, it is advisable to save the date and keep your ears on the ground for more updates.
