Strike Argentina excludes Bitcoin from list of supported Tokens

Following reports that Strike has extended its operation into Argentina, the Lighting Network-powered app has updated customers that the platform won’t suppot bitcoin.

In its initial statement earlier this week, Strike announced its entry into the South American country without  offering specified details about which cryptocurrencies it would support.

Users in the region have since found that the Strike Argentina platform only supports Tether, which is not the case in other countries.However one user identified as Nicolas told crypto news website CoinDesk that the Argentine version of  Strike’s digital wallet can actually supports bitcoin, but it cannot hold Ethereum’s ERC-20 standard. Token. This means when bitcoin is transferred into the wallet,it is immediately converted into Tether.
