Robinhood Debuts Crypto gifting feature

Commission-less investment trading app Robinhood will onboard a new feature that will allow users to gift crypto to their friends and family.

The new initiative will kickstart on the 22nd of Dec. across all states in the US except in Hawaii and Nevada, where the app is banned.

“Crypto gifting is a great way for our customers to help remove the emotional and economic barrier of their friends and family taking their first step into crypto,” Robinhood Crypto Chief Operating Officer Christine Brown said

 “It is also an easy and immediate gift for those that are already crypto fans.”

Robinhood users can gift other users cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, ethereum, dogecoin starting from as little as $1.

Senders must attach a message to their crypto gifts, and in everyday Robinhood style, commissions won’t be charged for gifting crypto. Recipients will have 14 days to accept the gift. Otherwise, it would be returned to the sender.
