Historic auction house Sotheby’s has announced it will auction off 104 pieces of CryptoPunks, a rare popular NFT art. The significant collection that an anonymous NFT collector initially bought in July 2021 is expected to trade for between $20-$30 million.
According to the announcement, the auction, which represents around 1% of the entire CryptoPunk NFTs in circulation, is tagged “Punk It!”
The digital arts will be auctioned during Sotheby’s virtual reality sales event called “Metaverse.”
Even though the NFTs were originally purchased with Ethereum tokens, interested customers will be able to submit cash bids.
Since the turn of the year, NFTs have dominated the news for all the good reasons, including record purchases by top celebrities.
