The World’s richest man, Elon Musk has boldly made a firm vow to ‘defeat the spam bots or die trying’ if his impudent bid to take over Twitter becomes a success.
The TESLA CEO also claims that one of his top priorities is to fully authenticate “all real humans” and their activities on the social media platform.
His tweets concerning the eradication of spambots came after the multibillionaire revealed that he had secured funding to take over the social network.
According to reports from the filing with the SEC, Musk revealed that Morgan Stanley handed him about $13 billion out of the total sum — and also confirmed his plans to borrow against his TESLA stocks.
However, Twitter is yet to respond to the bold offer put forward by Elon Musk and has further made his takeover attempt a lot harder by adopting the “poison pill” strategy.
As of date, Musk currently owns about a 9.2% stake in the social network — in which if this value increases to 15%, Twitter will allow other stakeholders to buy its stocks at discounted prices to dilute Musk’s position. A spokesperson for the board added:
“As previously announced and communicated to Mr Musk directly, the board is committed to conducting a careful, comprehensive and deliberate review to determine the course of action that it believes is in the best interest of the company and all Twitter stockholders.”
Consequently, investors in TESLA will remain watchful as they nervously wait to see if Musk will be offloading any of his stocks in order to further push for the Twitter bid and see it past the finish line. To make things clearer, most of the multi-billionaire’s wealth is tied to his electric vehicle manufacturing firm – TESLA.
