El Salvador set for influx of 1,000 Bitcoin ATMs

El Salvador will receive delivery of 1,000 Bitcoin ATMs in the coming months according to reports by the Cable News Network (CNN).

Cryptocurrency ATMs distributor, Athena Bitcoin, is expected to supply the machines.

El Salvador already have a couple of Bitcoin ATMs running including those from Athena Bitcoin, and one from another operator.

El Salvador’s President, Nayib Bukele doesn’t seem to be satisfied with the volume of supply though.

Mr Bukele replied to Athena Bitcoin’s tweet announcing the development with a question-tagged tweet asking if the supplier can deliver 1,500.

“1,000? How about 1,500?” Bukele replied.
