You don’t need to be a crypto expert to buy, sell and collect NFT. OneOf CEO Lin Dai, OneOf and eBay bring transformative Web3 technology to the 100 million crypto non-native mass consumers
eBay has officially launched its first NFT drop with a series of tokenized collectibles featuring National Hockey League legend Wayne Gretsky, which went live Monday.
The NFT collection showcases animated versions of Gretsky inspired by Sports Illustrated magazine covers. There are four different rarity levels, each including green at 299 editions, gold at 199, platinum at 99, and diamond at 15.
The collection is available for sale on eBay’s marketplace. The diamond($1500), platinum($100) and gold($25) tiers are already sold out.
The collection was developed in partnership with OneOf, an environmentally focused NFT platform that supports multiple “energy efficient blockchains” to provide sustainable NFT collections.
eBay has enabled NFT listings in mid-2021. But it did not integrate blockchain technology to support sales in its market.
NFTs are minted on the Ethereum scaling platform Polygon and can be secondary traded on OneOf.
Secondary trading for NFTs on OneOf has been minimal so far, but only three users have listed platinum-tier tokens with a base price of $199, while one user has listed a gold-tier NFT for $69.
eBay official Dawn Block stated that NFT technology has revolutionized. Moreover:
Through our partnership with OneOf, eBay is now making coveted NFTs more accessible to the next generation of collectors everywhere. It builds on our commitment to delivering highly passionate, high-value products to the eBay community of buyers and sellers.
