Crypto market share of altcoins has increased 3 times since 2014, according to a new study report. Altcoins had a market share of 21% in 2014 which has increased to 62% today. Bitcoin dominance has dropped to 38 followed by Ethereum with 19% dominance.

The Crypto market has made tremendous growth in the last two years. The wider adoption of crypto assets is increasing with each passing day. The market started its journey with the flagship currency, Bitcoin, and now has more than 12k assets. In the start, BTC was the only coin that had a large market share but with the wider adoption, people are more attracted towards digital assets other than BTC.

Edith Reads, a writer at tradingplatforms, has published a report which shows that the crypto market share of the Altcoins has increased 3 times in the last seven years. The author has explicitly explained that the tide is turning and altcoins are making ground on BTC with their increasing popularity. Bitcoin dominance has been more than 80% until February 2017. Since 2014, the crypto market share of altcoins has been on an upward trajectory.

Today there are more than 12,000 crypto-assets in existence that have a recorded price value according to coingecko.com metrics. While ethereum (ETH) commands 19.1% of the $2.54 trillion, many other coins have decent shares of the overall crypto economy as well. BNB has a market dominance of 3.64% and the stablecoin tether (USDT) has around 3.06%. Bitcoin dominance has decreased to 38%.
