The United States already leads the way when it comes to Crypto ATMs installations but they are set to get more courtesy of Circle K, a multinational convenience store gas station chain company that is planning to install cryptocurrency ATMs in all its outlets within the country.
According to a report by the New York Post, the influx of these Crypto-supported ATMs will further boost cryptocurrency adoption and cater for people without bank accounts.
Our goal is to provide as much access as we possibly can for consumers, by putting more ATMs in all 50 U.S states, including throughout New York,” Brandon Mintz, CEO of Atlanta-based Bitcoin Depot, explained to The Post.
The NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection estimates that 10% of people who live in New York are “unbanked”.
This initiative by Circle K will ease their burden by allowing them to send and receive money without any hassle.
Consumers will be able to put physical cash into the ATMs in exchange for virtual currencies that can be stored on mobile digital wallets.
