China Seek To Track Global Vaccination Rate With Blockchain, AI and WEB3
Following suggestions that the World authorities may introduce a mandatory “vaccination passport” for travellers, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CCDC) wants to take a technological approach involving blockchain, internet of things and artificial intelligence to monitor proceedings in this regard.
As per a report published today, the CCDC believes the combination and efficient deployment of these three elements will provide “the technical means to promote the recovery of the global economy and to facilitate the cross-border movement of people.”
In March 2021, the World Health Organization revealed a temporary framework to facilitate the development of Smart Vaccine Certificates (SVCs) and Digital Vaccine Certificates (DVCs).
With nearly eight billion people in the world, it was hard to see how these systems will be the implemented and monitored at the time. However, the concept suggested by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CCDC) looks like something that could sail if executed properly.
Developers must however place a premium on cyber security to ensure the scheme is not hijacked by scammers.
