Brian Brooks has resigned from his position as CEO of Binance.US less than four months since he was appointed.
Binance.US is the US arm and a subsidiary of major cryptocurrency exchange platform Binance
The former acting comptroller of the Currency at the United States Department of the Treasury took over the helms of affairs at Binance.US from Catherine Coley in May.
Brooks was expected to bridge the gap between the crypto exchange and the financial regulatory body in the US but he wouldn’t be able to fulfil that goal as he announced his exit citing discrepancies of methods.
The now-former CEO of Binance.US tweeted: “Greetings #crypto community. Letting you all know that I have resigned as CEO of @BinanceUS . Despite differences over strategic direction, I wish my former colleagues much success. Exciting new things to come!”
Meanwhile, the CEO of Binance Changpeng Zhao believes that Binance.US will continue its operations without any glitch or setback whatsoever.
“I remain confident in Binance.US’s business and its commitment to serve its customers and innovate […] As one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the United States, Binance.US is poised to continue to grow and empower the future of finance.”
Brian Brooks was understandably economical with information in the tweet that confirmed his resignation. But hopefully, the truth will reveal itself in due time.
