Bored Ape Yacht Club Founder Criticizes Campaign Saying BAYC Has Nazi Symbolism

One of the co-founders of Yuga Labs made a statement addressing accusations of using covert Nazi imagery at the Bored Ape Yacht Club. On June 24, Wylie Aronow, the name behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection, took to Twitter to address the alleged “false information campaign” that she and her crew claimed.

Goner thinks there is a connection between BAYC’s corporate image and nazi symbolism, although he has cautioned against accusations in the past, which he has described as “incredibly unstable.”

We didn’t respond to these allegations in more detail because, frankly, they’re insanely far off. However, we woke up this morning to a respected podcaster talking about this conspiracy theory, and it was pretty surreal.

So far, the video has been watched nearly 900,000 times and has generated controversy among viewers.

The Bored Ape Yacht Club Has Jews, Turks, Pakistanis And Cubans

Goner began by saying that the founders of BAYC were a group of Jewish, Turkish, Pakistani and Cuban friends. Even Goner’s wife is Mexican-American. That’s why it’s pretty absurd, he says, to think that the Bored Ape Yacht Club or its members had anything to do with the Nazi movement.

Goner said all these accusations were a “lie” backed by an anti-BAYC activist named NFT Ryder Ripps. .

Ryder Ripps currently has 29k followers on Twitter and describes himself as an artist, satirist and vagrant. They have a tweet with accusations against Göner.

Goner stated that Yuga Labs got its name from a villain from the video game Zelda who can transform himself and his friends into 2D art, and that his friends are a group of nerds. He said he likes MMORPG video games like Warcraft.

Goner even posted the email to the logo designer and said the club’s inspirations were punk, skateboarding, navy flags etc. He said he was referring to his tastes. Nothing Nazi-related was ever mentioned.

Controversial or not, BAYC remains the choice of celebrities and socialites, so much so that today Eminem and Snoop Dog posted a video where they become two bored monkeys as they start singing.
