Authorities disconnect Crypto Miners from Power Supply in Venezuela

Authorities in the Carabobo area of Venezuela have halted crypto mining activities within the state  by cutting off electricity supply to crypto miners.

So far, no official explanation has been given on why the miners within the province were disconnected, but whispers believe it is as a result of the excess power consumption.

Another possible reason for shutting the electricity supply to crypto miners in Carabobo state might be due to the illegal mining activities rumored to be going on in some areas.

Venezuela’s cryptocurrency watchdog seized 140 mining equipment from illegal miners last month.

According to a report by Cryptonoticias, the National Cryptocurrency Superintendency (Sunacrip) and the National Electric Corporation (Corpoelec) are scheduled to meet tomorrow to discuss the issue and find solutions.
