Miami Mayor Suarez wants his next salary to be paid 100% in Bitcoin

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez has continued his bullish outlook on bitcoin with a new bold request, asking for his next paycheck to be paid 100% in bitcoin.

The famous crypto advocate, who reportedly earns $182,076, made this request in a tweet sent out today.

In a reply tweet, Micheal Sarasti, Miami’s director of innovation and technology, says he has sent his principal a sign-up link to register with Strike.

100% in bitcoin

Strike is a payment platform that supports dollar-to-bitcoin exchange. 

Francis Suarez’s crypto obsession has rubbed off on the City of Miami.

After successfully hosting Bitcoin Miami, the magic city launched its digital currency, MiamiCoin, in August.

In September, Francis Suarez speculated that proceeds from the states’ native coin could replace residents’ tax.
