Ripple (XRP) has joined the new cryptocurrency sustainability fight, declaring that its goal is to attain carbon net-zero by 2030.
The company has entered into a partnership with some of the prominent sustainability leaders to facilitate this goal.
Ripple’s official Twitter account shared a message to its 1.7 million followers.
” We’re proud to partner with #sustainability leaders across sectors to help us reach our goal of reaching carbon net zero by 2030. Learn about our strategic partnerships and how we’re investing in sustainability as a company.”The tweet read.
The message was linked to a page on their website containing a well-defined road map to 2030.
Ripple (XRP) has established itself as a high ranking cryptocurrency with a long list of credible partners in over 80 countries.
Watershed, Renewable energy buyers Alliance, Energy web foundations, and Rocky mountain institute have become the newest names on that list.
Ripple (XRP) blushed about its sustainable nature in comparison to other digital assets and fiat currency.
The King of the lot, Bitcoin (BTC), consumes 3.9 billion gallons per 100m transactions, Ethereum consumes less with 239 million gallons per 100m transactions but that’s still a lot when compared to Ripple’s 63,000 gallons per 100m transactions.
“Ripple is committed to a clean, prosperous and secure, low-carbon future, achievable through innovation, new technology and market-based solutions.
“Through RippleNet’s On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) service and RippleX, Ripple leverages XRP, the most sustainable digital asset, native to the XRP Ledger (XRPL)—one of the first truly carbon-neutral blockchains.”
